
Open call for Academic Partner
The UN Tourism Academy is seeking an Academic Partner to collaborate on the implementation of the Tourism Faculty Development Programme (TFDP), specifically its on-site component.
The Tourism Faculty Development Programme (TFDP) in Hospitality Management is a pivotal initiative designed to cultivate a robust network of highly qualified trainers and faculty members across UN Tourism Member States. This comprehensive program, backed by leading international institutions and renowned industry experts, seeks to transform the landscape of tourism education by establishing a sustainable framework for continuous professional development.
Through a meticulously structured curriculum, the TFDP empowers educators to deliver industry-relevant skills and knowledge, ensuring alignment with global best practices and emerging trends in tourism and hospitality. By enhancing the pedagogical and technical competencies of faculty members, the program strives to build a well-equipped and adaptable national tourism workforce capable of meeting the dynamic demands of the sector.
Ultimately, the TFDP plays a crucial role in fostering long-term growth and success within the tourism industry. By nurturing educators who are instrumental in shaping future professionals, this initiative not only elevates the quality of education but also strengthens the sector’s contribution to economic development, cultural preservation, and global connectivity.
Scope of Services:
Selected Academic Partner is expected to present a proposal that contributes to the main objective for this project - to provide participants in the TFDP with an immersion experience in their premises that includes:
- Duration: 2 weeks of onsite activity
- Masterclasses from industry experts
- Workshops
- Class observations
- Field trips with practical activities
Eligibility Criteria for Academic Partners:
An Interested Academic Partner must demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Proven Academic and Professional Expertise: Extensive experience in delivering training and education in the topics listed above. World-class recognised institutions will be highly considered.
- International and Regional Knowledge: A strong understanding of global trends and preferably familiarity with the Central Asian tourism and hospitality sector, including the present situation and the opportunities in this high-potential development region.
- Capacity for Interactive and Practical Teaching: Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, practice-oriented, interactive educational sessions.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in designing and delivering online and onsite education
- UN Tourism Knowledge: Familiarity with the UN Tourism´s objectives, initiatives, and methodologies is an advantage.

- A proposal outlining the approach to program development and delivery and
- Resumes of key team members involved.
